9.26.06   WLT - Detroit
Event Info:
Friday, October 20
8:00 pm - 2:00 am

Update: this event is being postponed until Oct 20th so we can make it all that much cooler!

and we’ve got us a MySpace page for the event, so be our friend!!

We have begun solidifying the total take-over of the world and it all begins at the O Zen Lounge (formally The Buddha Lounge).

Beginning on October 20, WLT and our best friends forever, Bittersweet Dream will be hosting a night of art, music, alcohol and revolution … and alcohol

many of you will remember the totally killer good times we all had at this same locale a month or so ago where we joined forces with the stupendous Handmade Detroit family. so you will no doubt be expecting the same high quality affair as previously promised.

ask and ye shall recieve.

artists and all their gory details are still to be determined (and you’ll read abt it here first), but you’d be best prepared to set this day aside on your calendar, and you might also want to take the following day off as well, if you know what i mean

9.21.06   New from Dotson!

Chris has a brand new piece up, when the lilac blooms my love :

My attention was elsewhere as she flopped down in the open seat I hadn’t realized existed beside me and spoke quickly in crystaline words all of which I failed to comprehend, although their mood was one of familiarity, comfort, and that casual tone reserved only for the oldest of friends.
( … )

this is an exclusive work, not found on his blog, disutility function. so for those of you looking for a special treat, here it is

8.22.06   Summer Smash - Detroit

ok, so admitedly, this is not a WLT event, in fact we had nothing at all to do with it in the least … but thats not important is it?

and lets not even mention the fact that we should have told you abt it sooner, ok? ok.

the facts are as follows:

so check out the info at their website, and then venture on down to either the Lagerhouse or Detroit Contemporary for the smashing-est summer event ever. oh, and this is the last SS, so you wouldnt want to have to tell yr grandchildren you skipped it to watch another Simpson’s re-run, would you?

The 8th annual (and most likely FINAL!) Detroit Summer Smash Festival is set for August 24th, 25th & 26th! This Summer Smash proves that the Detroit area will continue to be a place for artists and musicians to thrive for years to come.

This year, money raised will benefit the CAID’s nonprofit mission. The Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit is a community based non-profit organization. CAID fosters and promotes the essential link between contemporary arts and contemporary society through its exhibitions, performances, critical and public discourse, and the funding of contemporary arts and art related activities. For our last festival, we aim to give back to the Detroit arts and music scenes that have given so much to us since Summer Smash began in 1999. We’ll see you August 24th at the Lager House!!! And August 25th and 26th at the Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit!!!
