well, by now you have certainly heard the Doctor has left the building…
that’s right, the great Dr. Hunter Stockton Thompson died by his own hand this past sunday and here at WLT, his loss weighs heavily on our hearts…

much has been written abt his life and work these past couple days, and we won’t jump on that wagon and try to tell you how to feel abt it all…but if you still need a minute to reflect, this is the time to do it, i guess…

truth be told, i doubt WLT would even exist if not for the Doctor, and really that is abt as much needs to be said by us here for the time being…

if you are interested in a couple of good eulogies of sorts certainly look to The Rude Pundit and Steve Gilliard for a place to mourn…or if you’d rather read Hunter himself, as i expect many would, may we suggest his obituary for Richard Nixon or his last piece for ESPN titled “Shotgun Golf with Bill Murray”…

and in case you want something to drown out the silence in yr ears, i made an audio piece monday night to help me through the evening…i think it was done in a way that follows the lessons i learned from the Doctor over the years…
